Diamond is the hardness known naturally occurring material, meaning it can only be scratched by another diamond. For this reason, diamond jewellery should be stored away from other diamonds and softer coloured gemstones.
Though diamond is the hardness known material it is by no means indestructible. Diamond can chip, fracture or cleave if hit with enough force so care should always be taken when wearing, removing and putting on your diamond jewellery.
