White Gold
White gold is not found naturally, it is created by mixing yellow gold with other metals such as silver and palladium which lightens the colour. Even after this process white gold alloys are still slightly yellow in colour so a layer of a metal called rhodium is added over the top to give white gold its final finish.
Though rhodium is a durable metal, this coating will eventually wear off, exposing the light yellow coloured gold underneath and a new layer of rhodium will need to be applied. Please keep this in mind when decided to buy any white gold jewellery.
Care and Cleaning
Diamond is one of the most popular and probably the most well known of all gemstones. It has been prized for thousands of years by consumers all over the world, the ultimate symbol of love and longevity.
A diamonds sparkle is what sets its aside from other colourless gemstones, so its important to keep your diamonds jewellery looking its best.
Diamonds are oleophilic, meaning they are attracted to grease and oil. If your diamonds are starting to look dull you can clean your diamonds in warm soapy water or with a soft gem cloth, you can also use specialist cleaning products such as the Connoisseurs Diamond Dazzle Stick which is available to purchase from us.
Diamond is the hardness known naturally occurring material, meaning it can only be scratched by another diamond. For this reason diamond jewellery should be stored away from other diamonds and softer coloured gemstones.
Though diamond is the hardness known material it is by no means indestructible. Diamond can chip, fracture or cleave if hit with enough force so care should always be taken when wearing, removing and putting on your diamond jewellery.
All of our diamond jewellery is subjected to testing on the Presidium Diamond Screener II and we guarantee that they are natural Type 1a diamonds.
We guarantee that this diamonds has not been subjected to clarity enhancement treatments
If you would like to learn more about gemstone treatments, what these treatments are and what they do, as well as which treatments are stable and how to look after gemstones with unstable treatments, please visit our 'gemstone guide' page.
