9 Carat White Gold Vivid Sky Blue Octagonal Cut Topaz & Diamond Halo Pendant

This beautiful pendant, made in 9 carat white gold, is claw set with a beautiful 8.9mm by 6.8mm vivid sky blue octagonal step cut (emerald cut) topaz and surrounded by a halo of thirty five 0.80mm round single cut natural diamonds.

Care and Cleaning
Blue is usually the first colour that springs to mind when we think of topaz, but topaz naturally occurs in many other colours including yellow, brown, orange, colourless and very pale blue. 
Some rare and highly prized natural topaz colours known commercially as Imperial and Sherry topaz range from vibrant golden orange and vivid reddish pink. 
 
The three shades of blue topaz we most often see in jewellery, sky, Swiss and London blues, are created through irradiation and heat treatment. 
During normal wear this treatment is stable (permanent) but extreme heat or sudden temperature changes can cause colour loss. For this reason care should always be taken when topaz jewellery is being repaired and it shouldn’t be steam or ultrasonic cleaned.
Instead, topaz jewellery can be cleaned at home using a gemstone or jewellery cloth or dip which can be purchased from us. 
 
Topaz is a relatively durable gemstone, with a Moh’s hardness of 8, making it a great gemstone for regular wear.
